Volkshotel is located in the East district of Amsterdam, only 50 metres from metro station Wibautstraat. Hi We do not have e secure bicycle place. But you can store your bike safely at the Amstel Train station which is close to our hotel

It looks like the main bed is suspended from the ceiling and above the rest of the apartment. Where is the bathroom, on the master bedroom level or on the kitchen/living room level? What does it mean that the balcony "closes at 11"?

Hi The apartment is has a split level . Shower is upstairs - toilet is downstairs The balcony closes between 23:00 and 07:00 to reduce noise for the neighbors

Hey James, none of the rooms have private jacuzzis, our special rooms all do have bathtubs.

What would you highlight about Volkshotel
Very Good
It is a very unique establishment. It was obvious that a lot of creativity and effort went into it's creation. I liked the decor of the first floor lounge and roof deck. I went for the breakfast buffet each day, which I thought was a good deal considering how much you can eat. I like to eat enough for breakfast so I can skip lunch when traveling.
I have never stayed in such a tiny room before. It was one of their "cabins" with shared bathroom facilities. I wanted to try it so I could see how well I tolerate it. I am a little claustrophobic. I was still adjusting to the time difference, which always makes sleep difficult. You can hear others coming and going outside the door. But when they are in the rooms, you don't hear them. I have to admit that the soundproofing is quite good.

What would you highlight about Volkshotel
Fun exciting hotel with nice rooms, though better for couples rather than friends.
Good location (near tram stop and supermarket) and fairly priced. The room/facilities were very nice too and it was a great base to return to after exploring the city.
It was slightly annoying that the balcony closed at 11pm but understandable. The pull out bed in the studio wasn’t too comfortable but doable. There was also a big privacy issue since the shower/sink area doesn’t have a door. We had to put up a bed sheet since we were three friends sharing.

It cannot be described with a mere list of items and facility options. There is a lot more than that. The Volkshotel is an experience to eagerly taste to the utmost.
